The new staffing tools
are live.
Staffing now works package by package, with arrival times, required headcounts, staff who claim their own work, and a record of who showed up and when. It was a big build, and per-package assignment is something we have wanted to get done for years. It is all live in your account now.

One package, one person? Almost nothing changed. When you assign staff to a booking you will see a new optional arrival time field, and that is it. Your existing assignments were left alone. Everything below is for the more complex bookings: multiple packages, multiple dates, multiple staff.

Built for the complicated ones
A booking with two services, two days, and four people on the schedule has never been one job. Now Check Cherry treats it that way.
Each package carries its own crew
A DJ plus photo booth wedding, or a booking that runs Friday and Saturday, is really several jobs in one record. Each package now holds its own staff, its own arrival time, and its own availability check, so your DJ can work Saturday without being tied up on Friday. An "All Packages" checkbox keeps it one click when the booking is simple.
Arrival times, per package
Set when each person is expected on site. Leave it blank and it uses the package start time. There is a new arrival time token for your automated messages, and the arrival lands on their calendar as its own entry, so a staffer sees the setup window and the event itself as two separate blocks.
Tell Check Cherry how many staff a package needs
Set a default on the package, override it on any booking. Packages carry a "1 of 3 filled" badge that turns green when it is covered, and an open package now stays in your unassigned list until it is actually full instead of disappearing the moment one person claims it.
Staff can claim or request one package
Turn it on per service under Staff Settings. Claim if you trust your team to sort it out, request if you want the final say. Assigned staff and pending requests now live on one Staff page per booking, with approve, reject, edit and remove in the same place.
How to set it up
Staff accept or decline an assignment
If you would rather not assume someone is free, switch this on and every assignment waits for a yes or no, with an optional reason if they decline. A decline reopens the package, drops the booking off their dashboard and calendar, and can trigger a new Staff Declined a Booking message.
How to turn it on
Check in and check out
Staff punch in when they arrive and out when they leave, with a note and photos for venue condition, setup shots, or damage. Location is captured when the device allows it. Only one shift can be open at a time, which is what catches the forgotten check-out from last weekend. You can correct or delete any shift, and every correction is tracked.
How to turn it on
A Staffing page that shows the whole pipeline
Under Sales you will find Staffing: unassigned packages, staff requests waiting on you, assignments nobody has answered yet, your own assignments, and time off requests. Time off approvals moved here from the Sales menu.

Hours you can run payroll from
Under Reporting, Staff Check-Ins gives you one row per person with their shift count, total hours and bookings worked. Click a row to drop into the shift-by-shift detail. Filter it, choose your columns, download a CSV, or save the report and have it emailed to you on a schedule.

You asked on the webinar. Here is what shipped since.
We ran the first look session this week and took questions the whole way through. These landed in the days right after.
✓ A staff hours worked report. The check-in report now has a per-person view, so "how many hours did she work last week" is one row.
✓ Decline reasons on the web, not only in the app.
✓ A Staff Assigned message can now send a set time after the assignment, and can filter on whether the person has accepted yet. That is your nudge for the staff who never reply.
✓ Staff arrival time tokens on every event message, not just one.
✓ Staff can correct their own punch for 48 hours, and a missed punch can be added when you review the day.
It is all in the app too
Version 2.8.0 brings per-package claim and request, accept and decline, check in and check out, and time off approval for admins. If your team is missing something, they are probably still on the old build, so have them update. Location on mobile check-ins is in the next release, which is with Apple now.

Go take a look
Arrival times and per-package assignment are already there. Accept and decline, check-in, and letting staff claim bookings are settings you switch on when you want them.

Rather watch it?
Matt walks through all of it in about 35 minutes, with customer questions along the way. The replay is chaptered, so you can jump straight to the part you care about.

A good chunk of this came straight from feature requests, so keep them coming. Sign in and chat with us if something is not working the way you expected, or if there is a piece of your staffing setup we still have not covered.
