2025 Highlights

Another year in the books! I'm happy to share that 2025 was an incredible year for Check Cherry. We introduced some of our most-requested features ever, made major strides with our mobile apps, and continued refining the platform based on your feedback. Here's a look at what we accomplished together.

Appointments

Perhaps our most significant addition of 2025, the new Appointments feature gives you a complete system for managing consultations, site visits, and planning meetings alongside your bookings.

  • Appointment Calendars - Create dedicated scheduling calendars that clients can use to self-book meetings
  • Zoom Integration - Connect your Zoom account to automatically generate meeting links
  • Multiple Calendars - Support for multiple scheduling calendars for different services or team members
  • Convert to Proposal or Lead - Turn a completed appointment into a proposal or lead with one click
  • Create from Booking - New menu option to create an appointment directly from an existing booking
  • Duplicate Appointments - Easily copy appointments for recurring meetings
  • Customizable Titles - Add and edit titles on appointments for better organization
  • Appointment Tokens - New message tokens for organizer name, email, staff name, staff scheduler link, and guest phone

Proposal Alternatives

We reimagined how you present options to clients. Instead of creating separate proposals for different packages, Proposal Alternatives let you offer multiple options within a single proposal, a long-standing feature request we were excited to deliver.

  • Create, rename, and rearrange alternatives with drag-and-drop
  • Set custom deposit amounts for each alternative
  • Duplicate an existing package as an alternative
  • Two-step approval process for client review
  • Full support in our mobile apps

Extra Categories

Check Cherry has long supported selling via add-ons and backdrops. This year brought the concept of Extra Categories which allow you define your own categories for upselling:

  • Custom Categories - Organize your upsell options into logical groups such as "Props" that don't fit into your existing add-ons and backdrops
  • Additional Step - Adds additional steps in the booking engine
  • Selection Policies - Require customers to choose 1 item (similar to a backdrop), any number of items (similar to add-ons), or any other fixed number.
  • Link to packages & add-ons - Only show if certain packages or add-ons are selected. For instance only show a "Print Options" category if the "Premium Prints" option is enabled

Bulk Editing Tools

  • Packages - Bulk editing and drag-and-drop sorting of packages, package groups, and services
  • Add-Ons - Bulk editing and drag-and-drop sorting
  • Backdrops - Bulk editing, drag-and-drop sorting, and bulk upload image files
  • Extra Categories - Bulk editing and drag-and-drop sorting
  • Expenses - Bulk upload expenses from a CSV
  • Designs - Updates to bulk-edit tools for designs

Payment Improvements

We continued to expand payment flexibility:

  • Klarna - Added as a payment option for clients who prefer buy-now-pay-later
  • Credit Notes - When issuing refunds, automatically create a credit note and reduce the customer's balance
  • Payment Plan Flexibility - Option to remove "deposit-only" from payment plans
  • Payment Plan Dates on Invoices - Show scheduled payment dates directly on invoices
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay - Now retain card details for future charges
  • Revised Payment Collection - More intuitive interface for collecting customer payments
  • Accept Payments in App - Process payments directly in the mobile app (CC Payments)

Launch Center

The new Launch Center puts your most common actions at your fingertips. Access frequently used features, create new items, and navigate your account faster than ever. We also added color-coded tags to the Create New button throughout the system.

Search Enhancements

Our global search became significantly more powerful in 2025:

  • Smarter Search - Better prioritization to bring the results you're looking for to the top
  • Support Articles - Find help documentation without leaving Check Cherry
  • Webinars & Tutorial Videos - Search our complete library of training content
  • Quick Send Template Search - Find the right message template faster when sending communications
  • Email Confirmation - Verification gate with refresh functionality

Dashboard Widgets

New dashboard widgets help you stay on top of follow-ups:

  • Next Follow Up Widget - See leads and proposals with upcoming follow-up dates at a glance
  • Upcoming Appointments Widget - View your scheduled appointments directly on your dashboard
  • Staff Utilization Calendar - New widget showing staff availability and booking density

Invoice & Expense Updates

  • Expense Categories - Added categories to expense tracking directly on invoices
  • PO Number Editing - Edit purchase order numbers on invoices
  • Payment Plan Visibility - If a booking has a payment plan, it now shows on the invoice
  • Processor Column - Added payment processor to payments report

Contract Enhancements

  • Counter-Signing - Sign contracts after your customer has signed on confirmed bookings
  • Contract Terms Display - Improved signature display in contract management

Questionnaire Enhancements

  • Sample Templates - New accounts can choose from a library of sample questionnaires
  • Playlist Imports - Import song lists directly from Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Or upload a CSV file with your choices.
  • Color Picker - New color picker element for questionnaires (web and mobile)
  • Hide Until Completed - Option to hide questionnaires until after booking is completed. Useful for staff feedback or customer surveys.
  • Suggested Song Lists - Pre-built song list templates for common event scenarios
  • Submit Final Version - Renamed and repositioned the save & lock button for clarity
  • Song Search - Basic search feature within song lists

Calendar Improvements

  • Choose Your Calendar - Select which Google calendar to sync to and from
  • Business vs. My Calendar - Split calendar view separates business and personal events
  • Visual Formatting - Busy events display as bold, Free events as italics
  • Same-Date View - Click an event date to see other bookings on that day
  • Rewritten Sync Engine - Completely rebuilt Google Calendar sync for better performance and reliability and to lay the groundwork for upcoming features.

Automated Messages

  • New Automated Messages UI - Redesigned interface for managing automated messages
  • Simplified Lead Triggers - Streamlined automated message triggers for leads
  • Proposal Triggers - New triggers for "proposal first viewed" and "proposal not viewed"
  • Contact Preference Condition - Trigger messages based on client's preferred contact method (phone, email, text)
  • SMS Artwork Notifications - Send proposal artwork notifications via SMS
  • Attachment Support - Add attachments to automated email messages and templates
  • Edit/Delete Scheduled Messages - New buttons on message pages to manage scheduled messages

Reporting & Automation

  • Schedule Report Emails - Saved reports can be automatically emailed on a schedule to staff, accountants, and other parties
  • Staff Filter on Tips - Filter the Tips report by staff member
  • P&L by Payee - View Payees grouped by revenue to easily see staff payments
  • Staff & Customer Frequency Reports - New reports for tracking engagement

Multiple Clients & Contacts on Proposals

Proposals became more flexible in 2025:

  • Multiple Clients - Attach more than one client to a proposal
  • Proposal Contacts - Add contacts who can receive, view, and sign proposals alongside the primary client
  • Last Viewed Tracking - See when proposals were viewed (and by whom)
  • Viewed Badge - Proposals now show a badge when they've been viewed

Year in Review

  • Celebrate your accomplishments with the new Year in Review slideshow, a visual recap of your business highlights perfect for sharing with your team or on social media. Includes dozens of insights into your business performance over the year.

  • Design Collections for Add-Ons - Apply design collections to specific add-ons
  • Next Follow Up on Proposals - Track follow-up dates on proposals, not just leads
  • Awaiting Next Contact Widget - Now includes both proposals and leads
  • Package Lead Time - Set lead time requirements on specific packages
  • New PDF Generator - Cleaner, more professional printed documents
  • Soft Delete for Designs - Deleted designs can now be recovered if needed
  • Lead Capture - If a logged-in client starts booking but doesn't finish, it captures as a lead
  • Token Validation - Automated messages now validate tokens and return errors if invalid
  • Enhanced Zapier Logging - Improved debugging for integrations (1-week retention)
  • Lead Day of Week Token - New {{lead_event_date_day_of_week}} token (e.g., "Saturday")
  • Skip Backdrop Option - Setting to let customers skip choosing a backdrop on proposals
  • Package Description Heights - Max height with "See more" link for online booking
  • Google Ads/Analytics/GTM by Brand - Customize tracking plugins per brand
  • Revised Status Editor - Easier to trigger email and account invitations when manually changing the status on your proposals and bookings
  • Uncancel/Unpostpone - New flows with confirmation pages to reverse cancellations
  • Duplicate Options - Added duplicate functionality for flex pricing, recurring expenses, and add-on categories

2025 marked a major leap forward for our iOS and Android apps. We released version 2.0 with features that let you run your entire business from your phone:
