Best practices for planning forms
Collect information after the booking, not during
Don't slow down the sale with questions that can wait. Get the deposit first, then ask for event details. Difficult questions that require research or stakeholder input should come after they've committed.
Don't ask the same question twice
If you collected the date, time, and venue during booking, don't ask again in your questionnaire. Check Cherry already has that information — use it.
Two or three reminders, then pick up the phone
Automated email reminders work, but not forever. If the first few don't get a response, send yourself a notification and try a different approach — call or text.
Only ask what you actually need
Every required field is friction. If you don't need Wi-Fi passwords or detailed load-in instructions to do your job, don't ask for them.

When do clients see the questionnaire?
Questionnaires appear in the client portal after they've booked — once they've signed the contract and paid the deposit. You can also hide questionnaires until after the event is complete (useful for post-event surveys).
Can I have different questionnaires for different event types?
Yes. Create multiple questionnaire templates and assign them to specific packages. Wedding packages get wedding questionnaires. Corporate packages get corporate questionnaires. Photo booth packages might not need any questionnaire at all.
How do automatic reminders work?
Set up automated emails with conditions like "questionnaire not complete." Schedule them relative to the booking date (one week after) or event date (one month before). The email only sends if the condition is true.
Can staff fill out questionnaires too?
Yes. You can create staff-only questionnaires for internal notes, post-event reports, or anything you don't want clients to see. Control visibility per questionnaire.
What happens when the client finalizes the form?
When they click "Finalize," the form locks and you get an email notification. They can't make changes after that unless you unlock it. This prevents last-minute surprises and gives everyone confidence that the details are set.
