VENUE SOFTWARE ROUNDUP
The best booking software for small venues
Six tools for event spaces, party venues, and banquet and community halls. What each one costs, what it does well, and who it fits.
We make Check Cherry, so read our pick with that in mind. Every other entry says where it beats us. Checked against each company's own site, November 2026.
The short answer
Pick by the kind of venue you run.
| Software | Best for | Starting price | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| Check Cherry | Party rooms, small halls, and event spaces that want clients to book and pay online | $39/mo month to month, or $29/mo billed yearly | 14 days |
| Perfect Venue | Restaurants and venues selling food-and-drink private events | Free plan; paid from $199/mo per location (annual) | 14 days |
| Tripleseat | Larger venues, hotels, and restaurant groups with an events team | From $375/mo per venue | None listed; demo first |
| Planning Pod | Wedding and banquet venues that want BEOs and floor plans | Not published; about $149/mo on third-party listings | Demo first |
| AllBooked by Skedda | Community halls and rec centers renting rooms by the hour | From $99/mo (annual, up to 3 spaces) | 14 days |
| HoneyBook | Owner-run venues that mostly need inquiry, contract, and deposit | From $29/mo (annual) | 30 days |
Prices are list prices from each company's pricing page, November 2026. "Annual" means the price shown is billed yearly. Planning Pod doesn't publish prices, so its figure comes from software directories.
How we picked
Most small venues aren't switching from venue software. Half the venues that sign up with us were running on spreadsheets and email, and many had nothing at all. So we looked at what a small venue needs to stop the back-and-forth:
- A calendar that blocks a date or room once it's booked.
- An inquiry form, a quote or proposal, and a contract the client signs online.
- Deposits and payment schedules collected online.
- A price you can find without a sales call.
We left out school and public facility schedulers (Facilitron, Hallmaster), ticketing systems for family entertainment centers (ROLLER, Party Center Software), and enterprise tools (Momentus, Social Tables). They serve a different buyer.
1. Our pick for party rooms and small halls
Check Cherry
Best for: party rooms, small halls, and event spaces that want clients to book and pay without a phone call.
Clients pick a date and time, choose a package, sign the rental agreement, and pay the deposit in one online flow. You decide whether that confirms the booking on the spot or waits for your approval. Packages can be hourly blocks, flat fees, or per-guest pricing, with weekend and evening rates and add-ons like tables, chairs, and cleanup. Each room can have its own availability, so one booking never double-books another.
Where it wins
- True self-serve booking: book, sign, and pay with no approval step required.
- Hourly, flat-fee, and per-guest pricing in the same account.
- Month to month from $39, with no setup fee or sales call.
- Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your bookings and payments.
Where it falls short
- No BEOs or floor plans.
- No restaurant integrations like OpenTable or Tock.
- Built for events, not ticketed admission.
Price: $39/mo month to month, or $29/mo billed yearly. 14-day free trial, no credit card. See it for venues
2. Best for restaurants with private events
Perfect Venue
Best for: restaurants and venues where the event is built around food and drink.
Perfect Venue calls itself event management software for restaurants, venues, and hospitality groups, and it shows. Proposals and BEOs build themselves from the event, the calendar prevents double bookings, and it connects to OpenTable, Tock, 7shifts, Square, and Stripe. Express Book lets guests pick a space, date, and menu, then sign and pay a deposit. The venue still accepts or declines each request.
Where it beats us
- A free plan with CRM, BEOs, proposals, payments, and the calendar.
- BEOs and food-and-drink menus built in.
- Restaurant integrations we don't have.
Watch out for
- Paid plans start at $199/mo per location, billed yearly ($239 month to month).
- Free and lower plans add a fee to card processing.
- Floor plans need a separate tool (Prismm).
Price: free plan; Professional $199/mo and Premium $299/mo per location, billed yearly. 14-day free trial.
3. Best for larger venues and hotels
Tripleseat
Best for: multi-room venues, hotels, and restaurant groups with a dedicated events team.
Tripleseat is the established name in venue sales. An inquiry inbox pulls leads from your site and event directories, the BEO generates from the same record as the proposal, and guests pay deposits and installments through a branded portal. Add-ons cover 2D and 3D floor plans, ticketing, and Direct Book, where customers build a booking from your rooms, menus, and minimums.
Where it beats us
- Deep event sales tools for venues with a sales team.
- BEOs, plus 2D and 3D floor plans as an add-on.
- Connects to hotel property management systems.
Watch out for
- From $375/mo per venue, the highest price here.
- Add-ons are priced separately, and the package is set on a sales call.
- No free trial listed. Your team approves every Direct Book request.
Price: from $375/mo per venue, unlimited users. Request a demo for a quote.
4. Best for wedding and banquet venues
Planning Pod
Best for: wedding and banquet venues that want BEOs, floor plans, and seating charts in one place.
Planning Pod is built for venues: event and wedding venues, country clubs, wineries, and event centers. It positions itself between the basics and Tripleseat. The drag-and-drop calendar shows every booking and hold across your spaces, contracts are e-signed online, and payments can be split into installments. BEOs, floor plans, seating charts, and a catering menu library are all included.
Where it beats us
- BEOs, floor plans, and seating charts included.
- Connects to The Knot, WeddingWire, and QuickBooks.
- A migration specialist moves your data for you.
Watch out for
- No prices on its site. You start with a demo.
- It says most venues go live within a few weeks.
- Its site doesn't mention self-serve book and pay.
Price: not published. Software directories list a venue plan at about $149/mo.
5. Best for community halls and rec centers
AllBooked by Skedda
Best for: community halls, rec centers, and shared spaces that rent rooms by the hour to the public.
Skedda is now focused on desks and meeting rooms for workplaces. Its venue product is AllBooked, a separate tool for community centers and public spaces. The public books a room online and pays at booking or after you approve, and you set prices by time, room, or demand, with rules like minimum booking length. It's room scheduling, not event sales: there are no proposals, BEOs, or catering menus.
Where it beats us
- Built for many rooms rented by the hour.
- Pricing by time, room, or demand, with rules like minimum booking length.
- Nonprofit pricing on request.
Watch out for
- Prices are billed yearly; no monthly option shown.
- Embedding the scheduler on your site costs extra.
- No proposals, rental quotes, or event planning tools.
Price: Core $99/mo (up to 3 spaces), Business $149/mo, Advanced $199/mo, billed yearly. 14-day free trial.
6. Best low-cost generalist
HoneyBook
Best for: owner-run venues that mostly need inquiry, proposal, contract, and deposit.
HoneyBook is client management for any service business, with a venue page aimed at tours, contracts, and payments. Clients book a tour online, then get one proposal that bundles the contract, invoice, and deposit. Payment schedules and autopay handle the balance, and you can show a 2D layout of the space.
Where it beats us
- A 30-day free trial, the longest here.
- Polished proposals that combine contract and invoice.
Watch out for
- Not built for venues: no BEOs or room inventory.
- Clients book tours online, not event dates.
- Team members and automations start on the $49 plan.
Price: Starter $29/mo, Essentials $49/mo, Premium $109/mo, billed yearly. 30-day free trial. Check Cherry vs HoneyBook
