A client wants your standard package but also wants something from a more expensive package. Add-ons let them customize their booking without you needing a separate package for every combination.
Creating an Add-On
Pricing Structures
How you price an add-on depends on what it is:
- Flat rate: One fixed price. Good for physical items like a guest book or backdrop upgrade.
- Per hour: Price scales with booking length. Good for extra staff time or extended service.
- Per day: Price scales with number of days. Good for multi-day equipment rentals.
Advanced Options
In the Advanced section, you can configure:
- Multiply by package units: If your package is priced per unit (like per guest), turning this on multiplies the add-on price by the same number.
- Extends booking length: Turn this on for add-ons that add time, like an "extra hour" add-on.
- Requires lead time: If you need advance notice to prepare this add-on (useful for items you need to order).
- Display in gallery widget: Whether to show this add-on in the add-on gallery on your website.
Adding Images
In the Images and Videos section, you can upload an image or select from your media library to help clients visualize what they're adding.
Package Assignment
In the Packages section, select which packages this add-on applies to. By default, new add-ons are available on all packages. If an add-on only applies to certain services, select just those packages. A "custom overlay" add-on probably only applies to your photo booth packages, not your DJ packages.
What Most Businesses Start With
Most businesses start with 3-5 add-ons covering the things clients ask for most. You don't need to list every possible option. Common ones:
- Extra hours
- Additional staff
- Equipment upgrades (backdrop, lighting, premium bar setup)
- Delivery or setup fees
- Custom overlays or prints
