A client tries to add 10 extra hours to a 3-hour booking. Setting quantity limits on add-ons prevents this and keeps bookings realistic.
Setting Quantity Limits
Manage → Add-ons
Go to Add-ons.
Click on an existing add-on or click New Add On to create one.
In the add-on settings, find the Maximum field.
Enter the maximum number of this add-on that can be selected per booking.
Save the add-on.
Most businesses set reasonable limits based on the service. For example: extra hours might be capped at 4-6, uplighting at 20-30 fixtures, or additional staff at 2-3 people.
Add-on Pricing Options
When creating add-ons, you have several pricing structures to choose from:
- Flat Rate — fixed price regardless of booking details
- Per Unit — price multiplies by the quantity selected
- Per Hour — price multiplies by booking duration
- Multiply by Package Hours — hourly rate times the package length
- Multiply by Package Days — daily rate times the package length
If "Multiply by Package Hours or Days" is enabled, the price automatically adjusts based on booking duration. This works well for services like extra staff time or additional equipment that scales with the event length.
Advanced Settings
Add-ons have several other configuration options:
- Lead time requirements — require advance notice for certain add-ons
- Package assignment — control which packages can include specific add-ons
- Tax settings — apply sales tax if you have tax zones configured
- Unit pricing compatibility — multiply by package units for per-person services
- Gallery display — show the add-on in your website widget
