00 : Hey everyone, thanks for joining us. : This is Check Cherry Live. : I've got slides today. : So we keep these things casual. : I'm Judd. : I'm one of the co-founders, that's Matt, my other co-founder, and, feel free to leave a comment in the chats. : Feel free to raise your hand, ask questions at any time. : Again, it's like super casual.
21 : we don't even use Zoom's, whatever, webinar feature, just because it's just small enough casual. : Let's just chat. : These are fun, we like them. : OK, and Tom's got his video on, hey Tom. : Hello. : So, let me get my slides up. : So tonight, Yes, I gotta share. : Usually Matt does all the work driving, and I just, like I said, occasionally I gotta do some slides here.
59 : so I've got a couple of slides. : Just really the reason I did this is just for some like, we can weave in tips and, and all that stuff as we go, but sometimes it's easier in the in the recording and so on to Have them right in front of your face. : as with all advice, there might be reasons you don't do something in this presentation, which is totally fine, so long as you kind of know what you're doing and your reasons and you have your, your, angle or whatever, you know, totally makes sense. : But there's some good stuff in here, I think. : So, this is, Chick Cherry, Chick Cherry man shine, hold on, let me. : You that person There's a comment that your your volume is low, Judd. : so I don't know if. : Let me, well, I noticed that when I tested the sound, hold on.
47 : And without the mic, does that work better? : I think that's a little, little louder, yeah. : I noticed that when I put in the DGI mini mic and I had the input all the way up too, so I don't know, it looked low, which is unusual, but OK, I think you're good now. : OK, cool. : Everybody's muted there. : OK, cool. : So, Yeah, make your brand shine photos, videos. : And so basically we want to kind of go through some of the ways that you can really help highlight your brand in Check Cherry.
18 : a lot of that is photos and videos. : there's some other stuff, that's not necessarily photo video that's very important as well. : and so people buy with their eyes, right? : We all know that it's like, it's kind of a cheat code, right, in humans, if something looks really nice, you know, we're automatically duped into, if it looks better, you know, it's just how it goes. : And we kind of decide that pretty quick, right? : It doesn't take a lot of effort. : It's just how we're wired. : So this is just a really important concept in just sales.
47 : I just, you know, you might not like it, just accept it. : and I think what's really cool is our customers in the event space, generally speaking, almost all of them. : They have an unfair advantage in that the work is fun to look at, and people are having fun, and you can get some really nice pictures as a result, when you're out there on the job. : So it's like, I mean, contrast that with Check Cherry and our, like we're selling booking software CRM. : I mean, they got people like sitting at a computer, looking at their phone when they're out and about. : I mean, it's not nearly as, it's just not the same, you know, so you guys really have a great advantage. : I think it's really worth investing in, Yeah, just lean into it, invest in it, you know, it's, it's a super important and I think, a great, worthy of your time and effort, you know, so, there are 2 minutes that, well, let me, sorry, I can't see my whole slides. : Here we go.
46 : visual visuals will help close the deal, at 2 moments. : And so I think, you know, before the inquiry, your website, your online booking engine, after the inquiry, so your proposal specifically, and obviously, you know, you want to have good work while you're at the event, but we're, we're talking about what Chick Cherry helps with, helps you with specifically. : and so before and after, it's really important. : oftentimes they're going to meet your website before they meet you. : So we're not going to talk a lot about, website, you know, stuff specifically, but we'll, we'll talk, you know, you can use a lot of the principles for your website, basically. : And also we'll, we'll cover, we'll do a demo with the Check Cherry account, kind of show you what some settings are. : and don't forget about your logo. : I mean, I see a lot of accounts without a logo.
30 : I mean, I see most, but it's not uncommon. : in today's world, especially with AI, get something up, you know, at least something. : I mean, I don't think you need to, spend a lot of money on it, but you need something that looks good. : it's going to establish you, and then also, again, those photos are really going to help. : So, I don't know what that slide is. : So, photos of that book, real events, you know, beat stock or AI generated. : So, again, if, you know, if you, if you had, you know, I would really try to stick with, your own work, all that stuff, quite frankly, AI or stock is better than nothing, but find a way to get your real events in there, especially if you know there's going to be a great venue or something like that, super important. : Bring your phone.
16 : bring another person, something like that. : You don't need super fancy equipment, you know, if the phone cameras are really good, you know, I think one thing I've seen with package images that I'm going to mention, which is sometimes people have just the pictures of the equipment, you know, a setup, so to speak, whatever it is. : And I think you're far better off doing stuff like, the people having fun, you know, basically shoot the peak, not the setup, is where that goes. : grab vertical shots as well while you're there. : I mean, that's really, I mean, I think, especially for promotion on social media and stuff, super duper important. : Even on Chick Cherry's homepage, we have vertical video of customer testimonials and stuff like that. : So you, you know, it's just that whole, I joke with Matt that we're going to have like vertical TVs in our house in like 20 years, like the landscape's going to be gone. : you know, don't forget to get permission, you know, add something to your contract.
12 : you know, I think this is pretty straightforward. : If you want to ask per event, you could add a questionnaire, or add a question to the questionnaire, kind of yes or no, that type of thing. : You could also send an email to somebody and say, hey, just yes or no, quick, quick response. : you know, I think if somebody has issues with you using them, you know, I would just take it off, you know, I wouldn't. : Who cares? : 10 great photos beat 100 OK ones, right? : So focus on quality, you don't need like tons and tons of stuff, and it's going to be a theme here is like, quality counts, you know, you don't want to overwhelm people. : the first image in your gallery, on your package, on your add-on, that's going to do most of the work.
50 : and so use your best images, good lighting and focus, that type of stuff. : if you have wedding packages, use wedding photos. : If you do school events, do school photos, like make it feel like give that, you know, customer the, the, the feeling that you're going to be, the right person for the job and that it feels like their event already, so to speak. : so keep your galleries relevant to the services you offer, right? : So if you're somebody who does, multiple services, you don't want to, you know, just put in services, pictures of services that don't relate to that. : let's get into video. : So, short videos, great. : I mean, even 5 to 30 seconds.
29 : I mean, 5 seconds, it seems really short, but it loops and stuff. : So, you know, it's totally fine. : Your phone is also fine, you know, I think, you know, have a highlight reel per service is a good idea. : you know, a video can really, like a quality video can like close deals for a year or more. : I mean, I think that's another thing like this, this is something that will last, the photos and, and, and videos and images, so, you know, invest in it. : so, again, that's just photo video, and then we also have some settings, and we'll get into that, that are not photo video. : and so just a reminder that, you know, basically, you want to get people to know, like, and trust you. : And so if they're already at your website, if they're already looking at your proposal, they already know you, or who you are, but to like and trust you.
16 : So this is a classic, marketing thing. : And so folks on that like and trust, you know, you don't have to tell them everything about your business and your about section. : you want to get good reviews, you know, ask the day after the event, you know, their happiness is going to be highest. : I think stuff that makes a great review, you know, are really specific, like stuff like this. : So, you know, pick your reviews. : again, less is more, get the quality ones. : If you get a new one, you could bump one off the list, that type of thing. : on the about section, and I'd, I'd be curious people's feedback, but, you know, I think shorter and human is better.
53 : I mean, I don't know that you need, I mean, if you're a solo operator, I think it's fine to use your first name. : If you have a team, you know, you probably want to, don't want to do that. : but just people buy from people, you know, that type of thing. : common mistakes in the about it actually just like tons of text, right? : It's like, you know, you see this with resumes, you know, people are, you know, they just want to kind of overselling, so to speak, where you explain every detail, every situation, you know, in your history, that type of thing. : and avoid sounding like a brochure or super duper corporate, unless, I mean, there are some, there are some Customer profiles that are gonna want to feel like a brochure, right? : If you're doing a really, you know, 10,000, 20,000 huge event, like, sure, that might be different. : but in general, you know, keep it casual.
42 : we also have awards and recognitions that you can put in there. : and so, those appear on the proposals. : Matt, Matt will show us that. : But those are like, you know, kind of like from your chamber of commerce, or I don't know, like best, you know, best, best of what a wedding wire does on the knot, whatever it is, those kind of badges that like, let people know that you're, you're a quality operation. : And then put it on your proposal, give those proposals, cover images, make sure they look good. : reminder that the pricing page doesn't have to say pricing. : I personally love pricing, but we get a lot of feedback. : People want to have investment.
18 : You can also used to have the numbers there for a long time or your celebration. : and then don't forget about the alternatives and the proposal themes are really going to help you look better. : and don't forget to test stuff, right? : Text yourself a proposal. : Most likely, people are going to see it on the phone. : So, if you're building stuff on your computer, and a laptop, laptop or something like that, you know, test it out, see what your client sees. : I felt rushed because I feel like there's a lot of features you got to go through, Matt. : So I don't, I wanted to, I, I, I thought you had it all covered.
47 : I'm, I'm, 10 minutes. : OK, 11. : Thanks, everybody. : We'll, see you next time. : No. : So any comments, questions? : Do we have anything in there, or is that, I was just, here's a comment from, Tom, about that basically the only people that don't like AI boothther are, are, or that don't like AI are boother. : and I think, you know, the AI stuff is interesting because it's, it's very polarizing, you know, some people love it, some people don't.
14 : so it's, it's, certainly polarizing to, to some people, but it, you know, it can be a lot of fun for some people and, and, don't be surprised if people, people that don't like it. : Yeah, I think, you know, just keep your audience in mind, right? : I don't think, you know, give that to AI, let them know. : And I think it's easy for AI to write a lot of words. : That's what I would say, and we don't want to read it. : Yep. : OK, sorry guys. : Make my window a little smaller.
45 : OK, so, tons of stuff we could color cover with, you know, with branding and in Check Cherry. : I'll just start at kind of the, the most basic, which is, just our What I call like the brand settings or the, you know, the things, the very, you know, kind of the first thing you set up in your account, is like the colors and, you know, how that kind of touches everything, you know, all throughout the site, you're gonna see these colors, but also your customers are too, when they go through online booking and, you know, they see the nav bar and things like that, they're gonna see the colors you use. : So, it's worth spending a little bit of time just kind of dialing them in and, you know, making sure they kind of match your website. : but basically, under managed business settings, you can edit your brand, and, you know, that's obviously where you can upload your logo, you can set your colors, you know, so a couple of tips, generally the, the primary color, like, The, the colors are kind of paired, so the contrast kind of goes against the primary. : The, the navigation text kind of goes against the background. : So just make sure you have some contrast there, you know, don't do like black and then super dark gray, or a white background and white text, or things like that. : you know, we should probably have some better validation in there to prevent that sort of thing, but sometimes I'll log into an account and just see that it's really hard to see the, the text, because of the colors. : So, feel free to play with those.
11 : and then the biggest thing, feel free to chat with us if you need help, like setting up colors and picking something that kind of matches your, your logo, your website, whatever, just chat with us and let us know. : We're happy to do it, but we don't wanna. : Change things without, you know, without your permission or, you know, without kind of talking about it. : So, feel free to chat with us from within your account, you know, we can give you help on, on making things look nice. : look awesome, absolutely, and, and it usually just takes a minute or two once, you know, once you've done a few, you know, we can get it, get it looking nice pretty quick. : next thing is, you know, as Judd said, you know, upload something for a logo. : I mean, even if you. : You know, whether it's AI or just, you know, just a graphic with some text on it, like, you know, something, you know, 99 Designs type companies, you know, can make a logo for pretty cheap, but some kind of design helps a lot with just kind of making it look more professional, you know, and if you're gonna be against kind of a dark one, you know, uploading a white logo can look nice.
12 : but if you do that, you probably wanna upload, further down we have some invoice specific settings and a white a white logo on an invoice doesn't look good, so, so you can upload an invoice logo down below, but in general, like I say, just chat with us if you need help getting it to match. : And then the last thing that we see a lot of is, for whatever reason, designers or something, they tend to give you logos with a ton of padding on the sides, and when people upload those, you know, they'll upload a giant image with a ton of padding, and what we do with that logo is we just kind of squeeze it into the space that we have here. : so what happens is you get all that padding. : Making the logo look really small. : So if you have that problem, you know, if you find your logo just looks a little tiny, hit the crop button and that'll bring up a little crop tool and just trim out any, any padding or space or things like that, and that'll make it look a lot nicer, or like I say, just chat with us and we can help you crop it too. : So, so I think those are the main things with branding, In this branding section, you will see other stuff. : You'll see, you know, business addresses, things like that, social media links, you know, if you wanna have those show up on, on your pages, you know, some proposal settings. : we'll get into some of this later.
31 : signature, that's gonna be like your email signature. : So that's another one that you may, that, that's a popular one that people want to configure, but check out the branding settings for sure. : the branding is like it's like a minimal effort, maximum impact, you know, for Check Cherry. : So that's why we start with that. : So just, you know, if you haven't done that, absolutely do it. : Yeah, next thing, let's talk about online booking. : Not everybody does online booking, but for those that do, it's a great way to kind of let your customers go through, build out their event themselves, and, that's a place where those image, images really matter a lot, so. : Quickest way, wherever you are on Check Cherry, if you just wanna see, just hop over real quick to see where your customers are doing that.
14 : Just hit create new in the top right and choose the start online booking, and that'll take you straight there. : So, what you'll notice, there's a few different, the way we have our account set up, we've got some different services. : You know, within that, we've got some different booth types or within the service, we've got some different event types. : And you're welcome to organize things however you want. : within Check Cherry, this kind of has three levels. : So, you know, so depending on what, how you kind of set things up, you can have multiple levels of, of services. : one thing that we just added, very recently is just Edit buttons to take you straight there, you know, you can always get there under manage packages, but a common thing is people are like, oh how do I change that image and you can find it, but it's a little bit annoying so we just wanted to make it a little bit easier so you can hit edit and it'll take you straight to where you can change out the photo if you are logged in as an admin. : Obviously your customers won't see that that's just for you.
12 : and that goes for all of these. : So, if I go to a package now, hit edit, I can jump straight to, to editing those settings. : You can also see them all under managed packages, and this is kind of where you'll see just kind of that overview. : We've got a ton of different things in here. : Some of our customers have a lot of different packages, some don't, you know, if you have one package, that's fine. : If you have, you know, 100, that's fine. : general rule of thumb is to kind of give people not a huge number of choices. : Once, it gets overwhelming if you're comparing 30 different packages altogether.
49 : if you can find a way to group those into 3 to 5 options, that works best, like everything, it's a rule about, yeah, Matt, what, let's do, what about dimensions on the packages? : So we got there. : That's a, that's a topic that always comes up. : So let's go into a package. : So, if you edit the package, you'll see basically, there's not a lot of guidance there on, on the package photo, and that's because the, the package photo just gets used as is. : So, you know, we show you the full package image for there. : if you. : You know, if you have a really tall image and a really wide image that kind of doesn't look that good because, you know, you've got a bunch of space and then you've got a little bit of space.
39 : So the general advice on package photos is to use the consistent aspect ratio, you know, keep them all. : Portrait, keep them all landscape, keep them all 4 by 6 or squares. : It, it doesn't really matter what you use, just use something consistent, you know, if, if in doubt, you know, pick all square, then, then, then you're safe, you know, then you've got something that square is pretty safe. : I have to say that, yep, but yeah, like I say, it doesn't, it doesn't matter so much the 400 by 200, it's just like keep a consistent like shape or, you know, aspect ratio. : on these images, these ones are a little more, problematic. : So if you want, like, what I would say on these is, is don't shoot for like pixel perfect, like text heavy images. : What works best for these package groups and services is, like all it's doing really, just giving a bit of color, a little bit of background, kind of breaking it up, and if I go and edit one. : These, you know, that's where you can set it.
41 : Our recommendation, we say a tall portrait image, so something kind of tall, we'll use up to 1500 pixels. : don't worry too much about resizing. : I mean, it'll, it'll resize itself, worry more about kind of like those dimensions, or about the, the aspect ratio. : So like I say, something tall is gonna look better on desktop because we tend to, you know, fit. : Fit it tall, but the thing is it, it varies with this layout, you know, as I get, get smaller and smaller, it gets kind of taller up until I go to mobile where we can't go tall because it won't fit on the screen, so then it kind of gets wider. : So, so going for pixel. : Perfect on that will be a little bit frustrating. : yeah, it's more just for some color and some, you know, a little bit of color and, and, so and that's a design decision just in that it's full width on the image and we don't know how big the, the browser window is going to be, so it just has to adjust.
38 : It just is what it is, and that's why we put the text on top, all that stuff, right. : more options will likely be coming, you know, we've been talking about it, you know, there, there's gonna be some more options. : It's, you know, this is, certainly not forever. : we've got lots of cool stuff planned, but, but for now, that's kind of how it works. : Do we have to like ask the different ratios on the package images yet? : Is that something that's there, or is that? : So, like I say, the, it doesn't have a, a, there is no pixel. : That will make it so it never cuts off.
13 : So we recommend a tall portrait image, you know, up to 150. : And so, yeah, but yeah, yeah, there, there is no, you know, I can't say, hey, 300 by 500, you'll never get cut off because the way it, it kind of resizes, you will sometimes, so. : the, one thing you'll notice with, packages, well, let's get into that a little bit later, but we'll, we'll talk about this when we get to proposals. : Yeah, that's what I was talking about, yeah, yeah, yeah. : So, so this is something that's gonna apply more for proposals. : We don't use it in the booking engine yet, but longer term, basically you're gonna be able to, or you can, you know, we'll kind of like, instead of making it. : Kind of, loosey goosey how it is now with, with the online booking where things, resize dynamically, we're gonna lock it into us a number of set, aspect ratios and so generally, you know, if you just kind of upload your own, it'll resize, it'll be fine, but if you want more control, you'll be able to go in and, and crop it to, you know, it's like, hey, let me just get, you know, basic or something, you know, you can decide or you. : You can even upload a different version for yeah, I think that's what most people would do is a different, but that, that is for proposals right now.
33 : So, but if you got that, yeah, we'll put that other other place in the box that's new. : it's a bit of a, it's a bit of a pain for for everybody, but it's just like, again, it's, I think it's worth the effort basically is, you know, that's so Stacy's asking, is there a way to change the text color? : It's white now. : I guess I'm not sure you're talking about your own account, Stacy, or, in this account, the, in the, what he's looking at there like this page, yeah, the text color on the, yes, that page. : No, you can't change that right now, You know, it's not something that, yeah, you can change. : Yeah, yeah, right now there's just kind of the one style, like I say, it's, it's, you know, it's pretty inevitable. : You can kind of see the direction we're going with some of the proposal stuff, so there will be, there will be new stuff coming out, you know, pretty not too far off, but the other question is, will you be talking about proposals and the photo sizes crop and those yep, absolutely. : the only other thing I want to point out with online booking is, there are two more things.
37 : if you do want more control over this, you know, you're like, hey, I've got a photo booth page on my website, you know, I wanna control that presentation. : I don't, I don't like how you guys do the package selector. : you can always get Links to these things, shareable link to the service and put that on your website, and you can lay out your website however you want, obviously, so, you know, you can just link over and then when they click photo booth, it comes to this page or, you know, if they click 360 booth, just send them straight. : To the 360 booth packages and then from your website you can lay it out however you like and then it'll take you straight there. : So, if you don't have, you know, a million packages and, and you just kind of wanna have a little bit more control, that's, that's another thing you can do, and you can kind of skip some of these early steps as well so. : Stacey's saying that some of her pictures are basically have white, so it just gets lost, but I think there's an overlay on there, Stacey. : I can take a look at your account, chat with us in your, from within your account, we can help out. : Tom says, is your support available on the weekends?
37 : and so, yes, I mean, Tom, if you're new to Check Cherry, Check Cherry's support is, known for being fantastic. : we don't officially carry ours on. : The weekend, but we do respond on the weekend frequently, and, yeah, so we don't, you know, but try it out. : It's more like, yeah, it's gonna be probably a few hours most of the time on the weekend versus an instant reply, but try it out, yeah. : treat people generally happy, yeah, yeah. : And then one other thing worth mentioning is, if you go to any of these steps, you'll see this looking this link here at the top, where you can also edit background, colors. : So if you wanna go with, with different, different things for your backgrounds during the online booking, that's helpful as well. : So, you know, you can do images, backgrounds, or images, gradients, solid colors, all that.
27 : Type of stuff, you know, jump around to your different steps, see how they look, all that type of stuff so, so that's another place that's helpful like, you know, if you're like, hey, that doesn't look very good, you know, change the text to white and then and then that'll look a lot better so, so yeah, so like I say, look, to me the easiest place is just go through it as a customer, hit create new start online booking, and then look for those. : Edit links. : if you can't find it or not sure where to go, just chat with us and we're, we're around to help. : So the KG boost that I, I've used the direct links on my website, got them configured to see on the site if anybody wants to see an example how work and function. : So, yeah, post a, yeah, post a URL in there and people can take a look. : but the direct links, it's a great, yeah, I mean, if you, if you want to spend a little more time on your marketing website, I think it's a great, you know, great way to get you more control, no. : And Tom just subscribed. : Awesome, Tom.
20 : Yeah, awesome. : Tom, chat anytime, like use chat, like we're, you know, like just chat. : We'll get back to you. : Just answer your, ask your question. : we're here to help. : Yeah, Chuck Terry is known for having great support. : So, and there's a link in the chat if anyone wants to see the KG booth have his links over there with those special links. : Cool.
40 : Awesome. : So a couple other things. : So I guess, you wanna move to proposals next maybe? : Sure. : Cool. : So under sales proposals or if you click create new, you can create a proposal pretty quickly. : generally with a proposal, you know, it's just a matter of, you know, choosing from your packages, and because we're pulling in the, the packages and the information that, you know, you've already loaded, there's not a lot of, you know. : One-off styling you need to do on this, you know, it's gonna be pretty much, you know, we'll pull in your information, pull in any venue information we have, that, that type of stuff.
16 : So, generally, you know, creating a proposal is real quick. : let's go ahead and make it reserved, and you'll typically send that to people via email. : once they click it, then they're gonna be able to see your proposal. : And let's take a look at some of the settings for that. : So, So a few things worth mentioning, I guess first off, we do have different themes now, so you can choose different, and you can get previews for kind of how they look, but you can choose from a different Themes to kind of make your, your proposal match your brand a little bit better. : So, you know, if you do a wedding type of brand, you know, if you do a lot of weddings, you know, something a little bit lighter might work, if you do a lot of, you know, DJ, more like party, you know, like kind of late night feel, you know, maybe something like this is better. : but there's different, different things. : You can use for for different purposes.
11 : Do I have just one per account? : Am I limited? : You are not. : So you can, change the theme on your, on any proposal, you know, if you just need to do something one off, you certainly can, but you can also, set, defaults. : So if you go to your business settings. : Manage business settings and then proposals. : That's where you're gonna find kind of all the proposal stuff we're we're gonna be talking about, we've got a bunch of different defaults going in this account apparently, but basically, you know, you'll be able to set the, the default we were supposed to keep this account clean. : Right?
52 : you can delete, if you've got too many like us, you can delete some of them. : but how it works is basically, we'll, we'll look for, for any themes or for, you know, when you create a proposal, we'll look at your packages. : And say, hey, this one is is assigned to my DJ packages, so let me use these theme settings. : And within those theme settings you can, you know, you can set your theme, you can set the the default cover photo, and some other more more fitly settings for that. : So. : Once you save these, you know, that's we're, we're not generally going to mess with your existing proposals, but we'll pull in these defaults on any new proposals you create. : Let's see here. : I feel like I'm jumping around, I've got on the chat in here where Stephanie's saying basically she, you know, she's having trouble seeing, you know, the backdrops, you know, options, you know, because she's in it as an advantage, she can't tell what exactly what they can see, and, and the chatters are helping her.
49 : The others are helping her saying, hey, go through an incognito window process, and that's a good way. : I mean, it's very similar, but there are some differences. : It's a good way to test it out, or log out, yeah, so different ways there, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. : So, on the proposals, a few things, you know, you can always change the image, for, for a specific one too. : So a common thing that people like to do is, you know, maybe depending on the event type, they'll choose, you know, hey, this is, you know, whatever, it's a beach type thing. : Let's pull in a, a, a beach image or something like that. : so you can certainly do that type of thing. : Wait, Matt, go back to that page.
32 : Yeah, I saw something. : -huh. : Media library, which is your that's Matt's smug mug integration is in here now. : That's live and accounts. : So yep, we gotta do a smug mug integration. : We'll send an email out on that, but you use that for your templates or your client galleries, it's gonna be easier. : Yeah, yeah, and I'll, there's a few, media center stuff that we can probably cover. : So, yeah, another thing you'll see is you'll see this again, this kind of customized crop versions, and what that does is, depending on the proposal theme, you know, sometimes we need a wide, a really wide image, sometimes we need a square one, and again, it just kind of varies, based on the, You know, what somebody's viewing it on, you know, in our testing, you know, there's, there's not like, you know, if we could just lock it to, hey, every, you know, a square image always looks great, you know, we would do that because it'd be easier, but unfortunately it doesn't, you know, when you go down to a, a mobile responsive type thing, if you've got a, a super.
36 : Call image, you know, that, that becomes kind of unreadable. : So, so you'll find a few different, you know, kind of variants in there. : So if you find out that, hey, my image is getting cropped in a way I don't like, you can come in, you can change, you know, recrop it yourself, or you can upload a version that, that, you know, that matches it. : for all these, you'll see that, hey, it's, you know, extra wide, 3 by 1, wide, 16 by 9, square, 1 by 1. : that just means like, you know, whether it's 1600 by 900 or, you know, some multiple of that, it'll be fine, you know, we generally need to resize stuff for the web, and the device. : So, again, we're not gonna tell you like, oh, you have to use this many pixels, because it just depends, but bigger is better. : Better and, and just kind of keep those, those, dimensions and, you know, a wide 16 by 9 is gonna look good. : square 1 by one is gonna work best.
28 : So we've got a comment here. : She, she or he or she says, I, I use proposals a lot, and I struggle with the tall skinny photos for the packages because it doesn't match the crop size I set in the photo, in the package photo. : Not sure if that makes sense. : So a common thing that I see, so two things on the tall images. : The only place we use the tall. : Package images are the is the luxury theme. : So if you don't wanna try to find tall images, you know, choose any other theme, the luxury one is the only one that we do that with, but the one she wants, which is fine, yeah. : So under managed packages.
09 : make sure that, when you're, when you're editing your, your package photo, Make sure you're replacing this tall one with, with something that you want. : This is what we're going to pull from if, if you've overridden. : And I think what I would say is, you know, what you can't do, you can't say, hey, I want to use a square one for the tall. : Like we're always gonna pull from the tall. : So if you upload the tall, that, that's what we're gonna, that's what we're gonna pull from, but if you don't have a tall, image, you know, it's gonna fall back to could you use AI and add some space around the side. : Potentially is one thing I would say or just get some pictures specifically for that and if that doesn't make sense, obviously we can't, you know, look at a customer account, you know, during the webinar, yeah, chat with us, get it set up how you think it should be like to where, hey, I, I think this should work and it's not, and it's always possible there's a bug or something is working, but if not, if. : If it is something that, that, you know, that we need to resolve, we'll, we'll get it fixed, but, but if it's, something that, limitations just from yeah, it's, yeah, we can show you the, the, the, the right way to get it set to make Tom says aside from smug mug, does canva work for proposals? : So funny you should ask, so a couple of integrations.
31 : So, I guess to step back a little bit, if you go to manage business settings. : We've got what we call the media library. : And what that is, that's just a place for images that you want to reuse throughout Check Cherry. : so if you've got things you use a lot, it's helpful to upload them and now, you know, now they're on our server now you can quickly find them, you know, you don't need to search your, your computer if you're on the go, it's, it's there for you. : You can also bulk upload, so if you've got a ton of images, you can, bulk upload those there and you can even categorize them and do things like that. : we also have, some sample stuff we need to add more sample stuff, But, there are some sharing media ones which are samples that we give. : you'll also see in your account by default, you can turn it off, but, but it is a, it is enabled by default, is Pixabay, which is a stock photo company. : obviously, you can go to Pixabay.com and, you know, see all of them, but what's cool is you can also just search from within your account now and pull in things.
37 : And so wherever you're at, you know, if you're on a proposal and you're like, hey, I want to, you know, change this image, pretty much any file uploader that we have has the option to upload a file or to pull from that media. : Library and so again you can pull from any of those sources that stock those stock photos, the your media things like that, some of them, you know, require a search, you know, if I search for wedding, you can get a bunch of stock photos from, you know, the badge useful. : but there's a couple of other sources as well. : So if I go to manage business settings integration, you'll see that Pixabay is already enabled on my account, but further down we just, launched Canva. : So now if you hit enable there. : It's gonna ask me to log in. : I'm gonna allow. : And save.
38 : And now I'll see, let me refresh my page here, and now I'll see a candle in the list of of Of, providers Canva in the chat. : So awesome and so what that's gonna do, that lets you browse all of the ones that you've been working on in your account, you know. : So if you come in, if you're working on stuff in Canva, you're editing stuff, You don't need to like download it and reupload it to check Cherry now, you can just find that within your account, you know, you can search or you know, things like that, if you've got folders, that's fine, that'll work, and then you can pull stuff in. : it doesn't let you like edit can the things within Check Cherry, it's more of like you would still typically, you know, in the Canada app or website or however you you prefer to do it, you would make the edits and then, you know, as long as you. : You've saved them somewhere, you can pull that into chat. : We have a question on Canvas. : You know if it will, if it can make it pull only certain folders in Canva. : not that I, I.
47 : Not that I know of. : I don't, I don't, Yeah, the, the, yeah, I'm not sure, probably not, but maybe we can, Elizabeth, why do you want to do that? : Is that, do you use it for personal and business? : Are there, yeah, I I'd be kind of curious, but this is, you know. : We have multiple brands, yeah. : Yeah, all on Check Cherry, Elizabeth. : Or they some are not, yes, yeah, so you can get all the folders. : I mean, I don't, you can't limit it, but chat with us.
19 : I mean, I, you know, I'd be to see what, what's going on there. : well, you know how it is. : We like feedback on the product. : We put stuff out there, yeah, and then we, we listen to what goes on because, yeah. : Yeah, for sure feedback. : Yeah, I don't know. : But no, the answer is you can't limit it. : It's all there.
36 : and then, yeah, so that's a, that's a new one, hopefully helpful, Pixabay, and then probably less helpful, but maybe still is we, we just, also, did a, smug mug integration and, I suppose I'm Getting out of what we're talking about, but the main purpose of the smug mug, integration is more for your photo galleries, you know, a lot of, we were kind of looking at the stats and, and that's the, the most popular one that people are using. : but basically, you know, when you go to your deliverables, you hit manage, you know, you obviously, before you would add your, your gallery link and any instructions and things like that, if you happen to use smug mug, now you can pull those in, and it kind of save you the time of, you know, re-entering that stuff, and then there's a, a send, send via email button here now too. : you can also, if, if it's a password protected one, we're not able to get the password, but you can either reset the password, or if you do know it, you can, you can put that in and we'll use that. : So, just a kind of a time saver, but since we, you know, since we're, we added that, you know, it kind of made sense that, hey, maybe you wanna pull images from, You know, from your galleries in Chet Cherry too. : So that's gonna show up anywhere, again, anywhere that you have that, that, you know, that, that you have an image field, if you've got your smug mug connected, that's gonna show up as an option there too. : And so, again, it's gonna be kind of like you go in there and then pick your photo or whatever. : So and expect. : image sources, I mean from us we'll see what we can do, but you know if you have one you like and we can do it, you know, just reach out to us, you use a different provider which you know, a lot, a lot, a lot of people do, let us know if they're open to an integration we certainly are as well, usually, you know, it just kind of comes down to, you know, we're, we're fine generally integrating with, with about anybody that has an integration, so, you know, just.
39 : Most often kind of reach out to, to some, you know, to, to some of the other companies. : So, real quick here, Tom says I have a Squarespace website. : Want to know if I can integrate with Check Cherry. : So, yeah, I mean you can do online booking and the the lead forms and all that stuff with that. : Yeah, absolutely. : we've got videos and articles and stuff like that, but yeah, absolutely. : Cool. : let's see here.
04 : A couple of other things. : So let's go back to our proposals. : Manage business settings, proposals. : So we looked a little bit at these presets which just let you choose the theme and and the image. : there's a few other sections here you'll also see this in the branding section, but basically, you'll see this about section, and that's a chance to share a little bit about your business, you know, why somebody might book you. : If you have multiple brands, you'll have multiple of these sections, so you can customize it for each brand. : you'll also see in the about section, so what we call trust indicators. : So, just kind of fun stats that, that are useful, you know, that kind of make it look like you're, you're, established, that, you know, why somebody would book you, you know, number of reviews you have, you know, how many, you know, average rating, you know, things like that.
54 : So, you know, a bunch of options in there, you know, to kind of give you ideas. : if you have something. : Else that you don't see, let us know. : You know, we're open to. : I, I just want to give a tip, which is, it's easy as an entrepreneur to overthink these numbers, and I don't think it matters that much. : If you're like, I, you know, 100 versus 300 versus 1000. : I don't think the client cares that that much. : I'm not saying it doesn't matter at all, but like, don't overthink it, get some stuff in there.
22 : it looks great. : Yeah. : You don't need 50 of them, you know, 3 to, yeah, it's a few, yeah, pick a couple that look, look good, that you like, yeah. : And then another common one is, you know, it's real common that people have like things like the, the Coup's Choice Award, or, you know, things like that. : So if you do have any, any of these types of, awards and, you know, recognition that you've received, it's also a great chance to put some of that in there as well. : We got a DJ Jigsaw says, can you add an insurance stamp? : So, I get, is that like a logo, like we're certified or something like that, fully insured, that type of thing? : We don't have the images for you.
01 : Yeah, but yeah, you can add whatever you want. : Yeah, it's a good idea. : Yeah, it's pretty generic. : It's a title, you know, if you want to subtitle, you can like that logo. : So yeah, absolutely, you know, fully insured and bonded, or, you know, what I mean, maybe not bonded, but yeah, so. : and then you'll see the same for any other brand. : So where that's gonna show up is again right now that's gonna show up on the proposals, when I go to preview my proposal, you know, I've got my date and time, package info, and then we've got the about section. : So it's just gonna be kind of a, you know, a little, little bit about you, you know, doesn't need to be a novel, you know, just a, a reason that that somebody would, yeah, but reason somebody, you know, what makes what sets you apart, you know, things like that.
47 : below that, we're gonna see the featured gallery, and whoops. : Hang tight, wrong button. : And that's gonna be in this featured gallery section of the proposals. : And again, you can upload, bulk upload if you have a bunch, you can do one off and pull from your smug mug and kind of do them one at a time, whatever, you know, whatever works best. : But, but it's helpful to have some images in there, if you want to get more custom with them and do things like, you know, sometimes people. : People want to show different images for different service types, you know, what you show for photo booth is different than DJ or weddings corporate. : You can, it's better to have something though than than to worry too much about it. : I would start, you know, start if you're just getting started, keep it simple, you know, have a few images.
39 : You know, and these are things that, you know, showcasing you in your work. : So obviously, like probably a stock photo is not, not a good idea on that, you know, these examples, yeah, yeah, so we don't run an event company, OK, yeah, so hopefully these are, are real photos, you know, something to, to kind of highlight you. : And then the last one is reviews. : for now, these are just reviews that, that you enter. : And so you can, hit new review, put the, you know, who left it, the content, you know, 5 stars, that type of stuff. : and these are, you know, curated. : These are things that you wanna share, you know, if somebody leaves you a really great review, that's a great chance to pull it in. : you can leave it, put a date on it if you want, or you can leave the date off, but, in the future, I'm sure, you know, obviously it makes sense that we can pull these in automatically from places like Google or something, but, but I think the main thing is, is just having some, some, you know, some of, some of your favorite reviews or some, some reviews that really reflect things, it's all right.
48 : I'm, I'm, I'm gonna meet you, Tom. : and then under the, the packages and brands, again, you can narrow that down if you want, but I wouldn't start there, you know, a couple of things on the reviews, which is make sure they're real reviews, you know, number one, I mean, you don't want to, but then also, you can select the reviews based on the package. : So similar to those gallery of images, you can like if somebody specifically mentions that probably if you do different, they were the best at my wedding. : Versus they were the best at my school versus they were the best at my party versus the best DJ for the the best photo booth, best bartender, whatever it is, you can, you know, that's probably a nice way to kind of like really hone in on, something specific, yeah, yeah, I like that. : So it's cool if it's specific, that's awesome, and you can put it right there like I'm hiring somebody, they're a mobile bartender and somebody's telling that the best bartender ever, that'd be awesome, the best photo booth there ever. : I'm not sure that that matters as much. : Yeah, yeah, absolutely, and with the dates, if you are gonna put dates, keep them, you know, relatively up to date, if you don't put the dates, that's fine, but, you know, if, if the last review is 4 years ago, you know, that's not, that's not your dates, yep, they work on your review game, yeah. : And we do have a way to follow up with, you know, with a review link after, as well.
12 : So, you know, and David in the chat says wish you could pull in 5 star Google reviews. : So, yeah, yeah, well, we're going to look into that and stuff. : I mean, Google has some very specific rules and stuff around the reviews and how that works. : but certainly, and of course, we got to play above board. : but yeah, we'll take a look, you know, and how that all works. : But yeah. : and we'll probably have a step where you approve or you decide, you know, which ones you wanna put. : Yeah, I mean, you don't need to show.
40 : We don't wanna, yeah, we'll see what their terms are. : I don't know, yeah, you know, and, yeah, so, so that's kind of where, you know, where that those proposal fields show up. : few things, you know, obviously, you know, it's great to have all this info on proposals, Even if you don't do a ton of proposals, it, it might be worth setting some of these up because it's, it's, real likely we're gonna be using this in other places as well. : So, we want to make your site, you know, look great no matter how you're, how you're doing things. : So, so this is stuff that we plan to, to reuse in other places as well. : Otherwise, if I, if I have a gallery on your website, can you pull that into see Check Cherry? : So I'm not, I'm not following that 100%. : If you have a gallery on Check Cherry, can you put it on your website, and like embed it?
27 : I don't think so. : I don't think we have that, if that's what you're asking. : If you, if, if you have a gallery on your website, can you pull that in to check? : I mean, you can not, not like an I frame, but you could bulk upload, basically is how that would work. : With the images. : Oh, like, kind of like a widget or something to show that on your website. : Yeah, I mean, I could see us having a widget that puts on their website that would fall in the paradigm. : yeah, the way, yeah, I have one on my website.
52 : Is there a way to integrate that? : No, you can't. : You just got to bulk upload basically, and like maybe we, maybe we go the other way around where you can kind of have it on, yeah, I don't know, yeah, yeah, I mean with AI we could bulk pull in stuff in the future, yeah, but interesting idea. : Mhm. : let's see here. : I think one, before you forget, there is an images area on the places slash venues. : Oh yeah, let's not forget that. : So, if you go to business settings and places.
28 : anytime, you add a proposal, anytime somebody books you online, we're gonna save that, that location, that address as a place that, you know, that you've done business with. : And what you can do with that is, You know, have that history, but more usefully, you can, you can do things like adding public notes, adding private notes, and now going forward, you know, so say you've got like loading instructions for, for this location, you can put that in your private notes, and now your staff are always going to, to be able to see like the loading instructions or who to contact or things like that. : but something that's useful is over on the right here you can also add gallery photos there. : So if you've got photos for a specific location, you know, feel free to upload those and we'll use those on the proposals as well. : So yeah, when the venue is at the specific hotel, you get a picture of the hotel by default on there. : And again, I think this goes back to the best practice of being specific. : Right, if you can kind of do that, that's great, and I think this is a feature that, you know, several people asked for, but I don't think it's, yeah, something that certain people, you know, they'll do a lot of, of, you know, events at a certain venue and so it's, it's nice to just kind of make it look personal to that venue and give people, an idea that, hey, you know, we're, we're familiar with this, you know, we've got a, a, history of doing events at this location, things like that, we're not just a generic, you know, X company, we, we can do, you know, we do a lot with this venue, and then you can also, obviously upload your own image or use the one that we pulled in. : Google, but you can also use that as your proposal cover image as well.
11 : And that's another popular one where, you know, if you've got a nice photo of, of, you know, of a local venue, you know, the, the mission in here in Riverside, you know, if you upload a photo, then that's the one that we'll always use when you send out proposals. : And again, it just kind of helps you brand and show that, that you work a lot with that venue. : So, so that can be helpful as well. : Got another question. : hope, hope I'm not jumping ahead. : Can you upload short videos to proposals? : Yeah, so, well, we really haven't talked about video that much in this upload, but that's most people do the images, it seems like, but absolutely, video is important. : So the, so basically, in general, kind of how it works is, you know, with those photo galleries, with the, you know, when you're editing the packages, things like that, you can upload pictures, obviously, but, you can also do, we do support MP4s, and those will show up, on your proposals, you know, so like to look at one of these, One of these proposals.
17 : you know, if I upload an MP4, for this package image, that would be animated if I do it on, You know, if I've got a giant, you know, thing I want to use here, I can do that. : the video is only currently on the, the top two like you're on the base plan, it's not there, and it might come, yeah, maybe we'll do on the growth and the unlimited, you can do, video anywhere that you upload a, a, a photo, you know, some. : One way or another, it'll probably move down. : We'll find a way to get it to you guys. : We, we're still analyzing the data and stuff from people's usage and so on. : So, so if you're on the, the middle plan or the top plan, videos will work. : If they're, lower, if you're on the base plan, only image support at the moment, it might come in an add-on form, you know, a few bucks a month, or we'll just bring it, you know, we'll see what, how, how many people use it. : and then Jessica's got a feature request, yeah, gallery hosting, photo booth event, gallery hosting events such as Pixie set.
22 : So, yeah, I mean, it kind of, I mean, it's funny cause Matt mentioned he's doing this mug mug, and he's like, you know, maybe it's time we do a gallery. : I don't know, I guess we're kind of, you know, we'll see what happens with that, but. : Yeah, it just seems like a lot of different people use a lot of different stuff, yeah, so, but certainly, you know, could work, yeah, so, but it would be nice. : I could see where it'd be nice that it's in there, oddly enough, it's never over the many years at Check Cherry, it's never been. : Much of a feature request, which is kind of shocking to us, especially when we first started the business, I mean, whatever 10 years ago, we thought that would be, very requested, but I think there's a lot of options out there, but I get it, Jessica. : Yeah, I think it makes sense. : Yeah. : Cool.
13 : Well, we're running out of time. : Let me look at one more thing on proposals. : We didn't talk about alternatives. : should probably mention those real quickly. : So, within a proposal, you know, we talked about creating one, you hit create new, create your proposal. : You can also give people a few options if you want. : So, right below where your package is, you'll see this a proposal alternative. : Option and from there you can quickly add a couple of different, you know, if you wanna, somebody calls you up and they're like, hey, can you send me over?
42 : I'm not quite sure what I want, you know, with the alternatives, you can give them a couple of choices and again we'll just reuse all of your stuff, you know, images and whatnot, but that lets them have a couple of options between between which they pick so. : it's another, you know, helpful way if you do a lot of proposals, you know, a helpful way to, to sell as well. : We got people in there. : My favorite feature from Elizabeth who uses his alternate proposal feature, and you know what. : It was requested by a lot of people at a pain to implement, but it's here, so that's awesome. : Yeah, it makes a lot of sense, helps sales. : Yeah, I get it. : one thing I forgot to mention too, I want to mention is, so on your package images, one thing that that we added in the last, I don't know, 6 months that we haven't always had is, When you're setting your, your package image, you can add additional photos as well.
35 : So if you've got a bunch of different package images that you wanna add, feel free to add them, you know, you can have, have a bunch of them, and then those will again get used during the online booking, during the, during the proposal and stuff like that. : So, so that's something that, that hasn't always been. : Been around either, so, then when they get to this proposal page, it looks like this has it, you know, they'll see the plus 2 and then they can kind of go through and so, so that's another place with if you do have video, you know, maybe it's your, maybe it's not your, your primary, but maybe you do it as your secondary or, you know, there's different ways to kind of do things, but, feel free to add, you know, gallery photos of just that particular package as well. : So got a question from the KG booth. : Do you find the majority of your users. : do the online booking engine or manually send proposals. : And so what I, I mean, I, I'll chime in on this, which is what, they're not mutually exclusive because a lot of people do online booking, and if somebody doesn't finish the online booking, a lead is generated, and they convert that lead to a proposal, and then they close the sale. : I started working on an article about our numbers and stuff.
41 : I just haven't gotten around to it, and I don't recall off the top of my head, but I do know the majority of You know, Check Cherry's confirmed bookings result in some form of human interaction, as opposed to, you know, I don't, I think maybe it's like 20%, don't quote me on that, are fully self-service, so to speak. : So then the other 80%, they might, they might originate from elite form or for online booking, but a proposal is sent, and there's some, some touching going on there. : and so, which makes sense. : I mean, I think, you know. : And I don't think that's a, that's a bad thing of online booking and that like, that's a great way to start, allow somebody to start doing business with you online, right? : Doing the online booking. : Yep, you got it. : And I'll have an article.
25 : We'll have an article on that at some point. : We'll probably do some short videos around it. : It was just, it didn't fit with where it was, you know, when I kind of started, yeah. : And awesome, and I, one other thing I was just gonna kind of mention is, you know, obviously with your photos, you know, there's a few places to get them. : obviously shooting events is great, you know, that's the ideal shows real things that you've been working on, you know, stock photo sites, there are, there are a number of different stock photo sites, generally, you know, for your featured gallery or something, you're not gonna wanna use that, but if you do need, you know, images, you know, that's an option. : AI can do a lot now, you know, you can, you can do, things that look nice. : Just be careful to, you know, pay attention to what it's, what it's generating, and, you know, double check the spelling or whatever, if you've got text on it. : and there are sites like, like Photo booth Marketing, you know, they have a lot of, of.
17 : Assets you can use too. : And so, if you're, you know, if you're having a hard time finding images or coming up with images, you know, if, if you don't want to go in the other routes, you know, something like a photo booth marketing, you know,.com, they, they have a lot of assets that you can, you can get in onto, yeah. : Cool. : Well, we filled up the hour again, so yeah, I know I was in my rush. : Mom, welcome. : I hope you enjoyed yourself. : thanks everybody for joining us. : Yeah, everybody says, will there be an undo feature button in the future?
51 : I don't know. : I mean, I don't, I mean it doesn't come up much, I guess is from my, you know, from my understanding, but, you know. : Could be. : We have an archive type thing. : So if you do have something, you know, let us know. : I, I want to know specifics, chat with us from within your account. : Yep. : Thanks everybody for coming and we appreciate you and more to come.
