0:33 mean great timing so um this is a webinar on check Cherry's new song list feature set um Matt's going to be doing most most of the driving um but if you're somebody who does uh music at uh your events this is a great way to have suggested list for playlist and uh special moments of a wedding for example um and it's just a a really cool feature and happy it's uh here in Check Cherry

1:04 so Matt I guess you could kind of show us how it works um and if you have questions feel free to chat um and then we'll also take questions uh over audio um after but yeah thank you Jud so me share my screen Okay cool so uh yeah so as Jud said you know this is um you know we'll be mostly focusing on kind of uh some of the new song suggestion list stuff we have um you know I'll kind of

1:35 briefly review um just some of the questionnaire stuff in general just to kind of give some context to anybody that's not familiar um I guess kind of starting at the beginning though is you know on the client side um in cck Cherry we have the concept of questionnaires um you know those can also you can think of those as like planning forms or um basically information you want to

1:59 collect from your customers and so every booking in check Cherry um has you know can have as many questionnaire as as you have um and typically these are things that the customers are going to be filling out so if you've got like a wedding planner um you know the customer can come through and fill these out um and we'll be going through kind of some of the different templates and

2:23 different things you can do with them um a little bit later you know typically the workflow would be though that your customer comes in goes through it you know and this especially on the wedding side this can be you know maybe a multi-day thing or you know something that people come back to so as they go through um you know we will uh they can save changes as they're working and then

2:46 once they're all done they'll typically submit that final version from you and then on the back end you're able to you know see everything that they filled in and on the day of um you know you have all that information ready to go so um you know so that's kind of the how customers are typically going to be dealing with it so what we're talking about today um in particular is kind

3:10 of the song list feature so how that works is a lot of times you know with say a wedding ceremony um you want to give kind of some suggestions so for the bride entrance or whatever it is um you want to have a few suggestions there for them and so one of the things you can do now is um just make it real easy to to put those in to check Cherry and give them some of those suggestions and

3:37 then they can also uh view previews of those songs so you know if I'm not familiar with this song um you know I'm able to click this as the the end user and hit play and and get a preview of that um you know as they're going through you know they can just click different previews it'll switch uh you know they can close the window and close the preview and and add different songs and things

4:03 like that so that's kind of the idea um we've also got some things like some timeline stuff that that can also be useful um when you're doing some of these things so we'll we'll take a look at that a little bit later too so um so as the admin um how does this work uh typically what you're going to do is set up your questionnaire templates so if we go to manage and and questionnaire templates

4:32 you can see all the different templates that are in your account um you know and we'll look at how you can create your own a little bit later but right now I've got this wedding planner questionnaire in here and so I'm going to go ahead and edit this and I'm going to um you know any of these questions I can basically drop drop um you know change the wording change the language um you

4:58 know whatever I want to do I can and if you view something kind of like a Google forms or type form it's going to be sort of similar to that um and so you can also have multiple tabs on these forms um so if you know if you want to kind of break it up into smaller chunks you can I think our some of our default um templates that we'll look at later do that you can of course add new fields and

5:24 there's all kinds of things you can add um so that can be just kind of static content you know if you've got headers and subheaders and instructions or images you can include those um you can also include more like text based content so text Fields you know double text Fields things like that um you can also do more like dropdowns radio buttons and then down toward the bottom we've got

5:49 these two new items which are song and song list so if I choose song um you know now when when the customer goes to click that they'll be able to provide their song name and it's pretty simple you know they can put in their name artist name um basically as much as much info as they want on that um if they have any other notes they can put those in too um but I think it's uh a little bit

6:16 more powerful if you include some suggestions for them and so when you select that song music type or the song list music type you can also uh choose a suggestion list here and so we've got some lists already in our account we'll take a look at how you can add those into into chat Cherry but we've got a number of different lists in the account and so if this were going to be say a bride's entrance

6:40 um you know it's just a matter of of setting that suggestion list there you can also decide whether or not you want to allow them to enter custom songs um and so maybe if if you've got like we'll look at some things you can do on the 360 side or in designs later too but um but if you've got like kind of a a limited selection of choices um you might not want to let them enter their own custom

7:07 song so that's kind of where that comes in and so if I save that and then I go to preview it um now the customer is going to have some suggestions they can choose one of those they can add their notes and those notes will show up right there they can still of course view the preview um and uh you know listen to what that sound that song

7:31 sounds like if they want to go back later you know they can see their current song details or they can choose a new one or they can add their custom song as well and then the song list feature is real similar to a song it just basically allows them to enter um you know an arbitrary number of them so if I'm doing something more like a

7:54 um you know uh you know favorite songs or a must play list um you might have uh you know something a little bit more of a generic playlist for them to choose from and um let's change this to yeah this is a song list and so now when they go to preview it they can add as many songs as they want to that list and for each of those they'll be able to see different um you know pick out

8:22 different things and then if they have any notes they can do that as well so pretty simple um if you you know if you're familiar with building questionnaires and things like that um it's going to be uh you know an easy addition or an easy change to make to your existing forms um another thing that can be real helpful on questionnaires is you can always limit your

8:43 questionnaires to certain types of packages so a real common thing we see in chip Cherry is that you know you've got a set of wedding packages uh maybe it's one package maybe it's a number of them and you can um you know basically have different questionnaires for different types of packages so what you show your wedding people is going to be different than what you show your

9:05 corporate people your schools um and then if you have non you know DJ Services like Photo Booth or things like that you're probably not going to want to show them anything um related to songs and so let's take a look at um you know once you've got your questionnaire or um you know at any time now once you're under this uh this questionnaire temp templates um now you'll

9:31 see uh this new song list items here and so if we click that there's a number that are already in my account um I can edit one of these and obviously make changes you know if something is misspelled here or you know I need to correct a name or if I need to add somebody um of course I can do that one at a time you know I can add my test link my test album and then here's where

9:56 those previews are going to be pulled from so if I've got a Spotify URL for that song I can put it here um and on the back end so cck Cherry uh we'll we'll display previews for all of these music services so um these kind of embedded Music Services or embedded previews um that'll work with Spotify with an apple music URL with YouTube and with SoundCloud and so once you you know

10:23 add one of those it'll look like this where you can click that see the preview um I've also got a YouTube list here A bunch of YouTube songs and so with the Youtube it'll show a full video which is nice um can kind of get something a little bit more visual there um and then Apple music and SoundCloud will look similar um I don't have any any links for those but um

10:49 and of course you can search and and narrow you know narrow narrow your search results down and things like that um one of the things you know as we were kind of working on this feature it became obvious you know you probably don't want to be doing all of the editing in CET Cherry though um you know I'm sure you've got lists of music from other sources as

11:07 well and so one of the things um you know it's really easy to download these um to a CSV file so if I click that you know it's G to um I guess I better share my whole screen here um I'm going to be able to edit that and you know I've got a CSV file here of song name artist album all that stuff um these are YouTube links so I've got a bunch of

11:34 YouTube URLs here um so if I need to You Know download these lists and work on them and you know make changes I can and then um and then we also have an uploader as well so if I go to new song list um I can use the bulk upload tool here and so if I wanted to reupload that list I just downloaded I can go ahead and select my list

12:00 it'll take just a minute to process that and you'll try to be somewhat smart about mapping columns but you may have to change you know the columns to match the format of of your CSV file but basically you can uh map your rows before you do the import so things like your song name your artist name your album name YouTube URL and depending on on what information um you

12:23 have there you might have Spotify links and YouTube links and you know other stuff too so um so basically we'll we'll pull that in automatically and perform import and now we've got a new a new list with all those songs in it and so um you know if you wanted to add some more you can also bulk upload into a list as well so I've got this 2020 skits that is in

12:51 my folder already so I'm going to add this to my existing list here and this one the the names didn't quite map up as nicely so I'm just going to map these you know that's my song name my artist name my album name um feel free to ignore any columns you don't use and I think these are yeah these are YouTube URLs hey Matt I have a suggestion maybe go back to just the screen

13:16 share of the Y chome browser because it's bigger love the bulk upload I know people are going to appreciate that so that's awesome and so um yeah and so that should you know try to dute based on the um artist name and song name but of course you know um if you know worst case you can kind of delete and and re-upload from scratch as well if you need to um and so so yeah so uh

13:47 importing exporting is pretty simple um we also have just kind of a a bunch of samples for you to get started with too so if you click new song list um you can create one from scratch can bulk upload and then we've got some samples um you know these are nothing amazing you know I'm sure they're they're pretty generic but um you know so I'd recommend kind of coming

14:10 in and customizing them and and uh you know give somebody an idea of what they're looking for what what this is for yeah um and then once you want to import it um it just takes a second to import and so I've already got that in here so I'm going to you know I could rename it I can uh you know change the name give it a description things like that as well Chris says does this

14:34 integrate with Sonos um it does not does Sonos have a uh a I know they yeah I didn't even know they had an API or I thought they were a music uh play uh system yeah so with Sonos you can do um Spotify whatever and uh play it through the the Sonos speakers we use it because it's all Wi-Fi enabled so what would a check Cherry integration like would look like I guess that's not clear to

15:05 me in terms of would it be yeah I'm not sure exactly that either because it would it would have to I don't know if it'd have to be an app on Sonos um because if you go to the Sonos app you can click on like Spotify and have a Spotify membership and then play it through that so I'm not exactly sure how that would work and that that's where I was curious if you guys no good

15:27 question I I don't know something we have to look into Justin says and you bu bulk upload from a Spotify or other playlist so um yeah so from something from uh Spotify or others um right now we support importing from to and from CSV um you know we're open to kind of expanding that in the future um from what I can tell I don't think Spotify itself exports to csb um that being said

16:02 there there are a bunch of services that will um that will do it um so if I do like Spotify to CSV or something like that um there's a bunch of different things you can use what that basically you can put in a Spotify playlist or you know a list of songs or things like that and they'll dump out a um a CSV file um for you that you can use um I actually ended up you know this

16:27 isn't necessarily specific specific endorsement but I ended up using as we were kind of building this feature out um this platform soundy sound I um and the reason I went with this one was that they supported um uh all sorts of different music Services YouTube Apple music things like that and so I was able to upload some songs um you know just a bunch of kind of text text song names and

16:53 then they went out and found links for all of the different platforms um so that was kind of nice but um um but yeah so there are different Services that'll do that um I know that a lot of you know in the DJ world there's a lot of services like um you know that the people are using to to do some of the management on their computers as well um we don't integrate with with any of them yet but

17:17 um we are you know open to it so if um you know if you use uh you know I don't know what the popular you know tractor and you know what is sorrano and all those um definitely let us know um you know if that would be useful and um you know we we can take a look at kind of the file formats and see what people are using and see if that's something we can expand on as well Justin says makes sense

18:29 a huge resource that's Matt um and yeah and Joe says amen glad to see this in Vegas yeah um yeah now we're excited to see how people use it we know it's important to the world of DJs um and we were showing this off at the mobile Entertainment expoo Expo um and one suggestion that we got which we thought was pretty cool was on the design template uh selection so it's not just DJ who use

18:59 Music These Days the 360 photo um tend to want to use music as well and so Matt I guess I'll that's a good you know way to segue into yeah of um you know suggestion lists obviously in questionnaires but um but yeah we've had a few requests that you know on the on the 360 side that that people have just kind of a list of you know 10 songs that they have commercial rights to on you know know

19:28 or something like that and so um so this will work for that too um you would still create of course your um under the questionnaire templates under the song lists you would still create your song list there um you can add previews or not I mean the previews are optional at the end of the day um you know I think it's helpful as a customer to to click through and see it but they are optional

19:51 um and once you have a song list then under the design collections um you know typically they're going to this is a good example they're going to click you know the customer is going to pick like say their 360 overlay or something um and then you can have in the extra questions for any of your design collections um you know all of these C all of these questions can be customized kind

20:15 of similar to a regular questionnaire um and now one of the types is song and so I can say um you know pick a song you know whatever and then now I can choose from my list of songs that I have um commercial access to um you know in this case where you've just got certain songs you can use you probably wouldn't want to check that option you know you'd probably leave that

20:41 unchecked and you know you can make it required or optional and now when the customer um goes to uh goes to fill out that questionnaire they'll be able to do the same thing pick that song and uh and that'll be submitted to you along with the other information so um and they can see previews and everything is there as well so um just kind of a nice little little tie in for people doing

21:09 360 or really anywhere that you have kind of a a limited selection that you want to offer people and so Justin says probably for a future update uh it would be helpful to download three mu files of the songs list that would be a game changer for DJ so my understanding is a 3mu file is a playlist kind of like think of like Jason but of a playlist so it's not it's not actually an audio file but it

21:36 works with other software so good suggestion um and then Jimmy says I would look at Vio and take ideas from them because I would pay extra to have some of their features here on check Chariot but you guys are amazing either way uh it's three m3u uh one for the books corrected me so thank you um yeah great feedback great suggestions totally get it um yeah and um yeah so let's see and so

22:11 we mentioned mentioned kind of some built-in suggestion lists oh and then so one one other thing I wanted to go um on the questionnaire side um so we've got a bunch of new questionnaire templates as well so um under manage question templates um you know feel free to browse those we kind of went through and tried to update them based on you know just different examples um you

22:39 know if you're just just need a very very basic event planner sample um you know we've got that but more more useful are things like a model release you know if you need um to collect that from people uh are a very simple music planner things like um you know just preferences do not playlist Etc um we've got more of a a detailed photo uh photo booth detailed event

23:05 planner with things like um you know colors and schedules and setup times and all that and of course with all of these questions you know you can bring these into your account and then customize from there um on the music side we've got a wedding planner with suggestions so um that's the one we were looking at earlier We've Got U more of a just timeline only that's

23:30 got um you know just some some simple timelines uh things like that they can drag and drop and then we've got a timeline with suggestions so um different different things to check out there and then we've got a new one that's called uh survey so I thought we may as well look at that while we're here too so new feature new you know kind of a tweak to to questionnaires that we uh made the

23:53 other day is that uh we can now have uh you know you've always kind of been able to have surveys on your account um you know just follow things things after the event um but a new setting that we added is um this new setting here that basically says uh hide this questionnaire until the booking has been completed and the idea is that you know a lot of times you have things that you don't want to fit

24:19 you don't want the customer to fill out until after the event is done and so maybe you know if you've got like feedback from even um you know you could even direct it at your staff you know if you have uh follow questions for your staff you know maybe you hide that from your clients or um if you've got kind of a you know how did my staff do you know maybe you want to hide that from your

24:39 staff and only allow the clients to see it and um and this will show up in the client's account after the event's been completed so let's go ahead and turn that on we'll add it to our bookings here and so now if I go to to this wedding here so because I'm an admin I can I can still see it but if on the client side this is going to be hidden because it's um because this event date is in the

25:12 future and then you might have an email go out say a day after um the event or something just kind of saying hey thanks you know we hope you had a great time click here to leave a review and then you can use your same uh questionnaires Link in your automated message and that'll take you take them right to this questionnaire where they'll be able to fill out that survey so um just kind of a

25:33 little tweak that that we think will be helpful for collecting information after events are over what else and then one other feature I thought would be helpful to look at real quick um we rolled this one out a little while ago but um I think it's still helpful on the song music planning side is um on any of these uh questions now we've got this timeline feature and so what

26:03 you can do with that is set like a start time or start and end time or just a length and that can be useful for um you know kind of uh kind of planning things out a little bit more so you can do things like you know allow the user to reorder and you know you can do things like allow them to set a time U and so how that's going to look on the customer side now I can

26:28 kind of move things around I can set start times I can set end times um things like that so um you know not songless specifically but it definitely kind of ties into um into some of those features so love it yeah and I think it's you know like I say it's been it's great to see some of these uh music features get into chck Cherry um we appreciate all the feedback from everybody if

28:56 one thing I'll mention too um if you're bringing in one of our sample questionnaires uh you know like this uh this wedding planner with suggestion will automatically pull in any song list that go along with it um so you don't necessarily need to pull them in one at a time if you don't want but um you certainly can and so typically what you're going to do you know if you're creating

29:20 a new a new questionnaire you know you'd create that new questionnaire um either from scratch or from one of our templates and you know kind of make changes um you know set up whatever questions you want and once you edit one of those um Fields that's where you're going to set that suggestion list and so you can say you know top hits across the decades things like that you probably also

29:48 want to take a look at your packages and see if there's you know certain packages you want to leave uh limit it to and then once all looks good uh I think the easiest way to add it to all of your upcoming bookings um is probably under the settings um sub item there um there's an option to add it to all of your uh all of your existing bookings um you can also review the permissions

30:15 before you do that if you want and so once you add it um now all of your all of your bookings that match that that wedding questionnaire or that wedding package are going to show it and then similarly if you decide you know what that didn't that didn't work out let me delete it uh it'll by default it'll remove it from all of your existing bookings as well so um you can

30:37 kind of play around with it you know add it remove it and things like that if you need to so like the bride entrance I just go to the the pencil I go to type and then I just go to song list yeah song probably for a bright entrance unless they're going to choose multiple um you could either do song or song list if they might choose multiple and then U once

32:43 thought um you know good images and cherries is fun and you know all that stuff and it didn't necessarily specifically state which markets we would serve because we didn't know um how it was going to go so um yeah so we landed there and I think think all these years later I'm happy with it um still and I think that's a good test of you know did you get it right when you name
