0:00 Today, we're taking a closer look at one of the most powerful ways to customize your packages and boost your revenue in Check Cherry with add-ons. Whether you're a photo booth owner, mobile bartender, or event planner, add-ons let you upsell and tailor the client experience for complete flexibility. To get started, head to manage add-ons. Here you'll see all of the add-ons
0:22 you've created organized into categories. Each one can represent anything extra you sell from premium props and idle time to additional services like scrapbook stations or drink upgrades. Click new add-on to create one from scratch. You'll start by giving it a name and a description. The name appears on your proposals and booking pages, so make it clear and descriptive. Something
0:46 like 1 hour idle time or premium props upgrade. Next, assign it to a category like extras, props, or bartending add-ons. These categories help you stay organized and make it easier for your clients to browse through options. Here you can set how this add-on is priced, flat rate, per hour, or based on the package duration. You can also set a max quantity per booking if you wanted
1:13 to limit how many can be added. For example, if you have an add-on like premium prints that can only be added once, leave the maximum quantity at one. On the other hand, if you have something like idle time that can have multiple hours, enter a larger quantity, such as five, so they can add multiple hours to their booking. Under that, decide whether this add-on is taxable.
1:38 This setting automatically follows your tax zones, so Check Cherry handles the math for you. On the right, we have an image uploader where you can add previews of your add-on. This is a great place to give a customer a better idea of what they will be booking. Under that is the package selector. Using the package selector, you can limit add-ons so that they only show up for certain packages. For
2:01 example, you can limit your wedding DJ options so that they don't show up to your photo booth customers. Next up, we have advanced options which unlock a lot of flexibility. Multiply by units is ideal if your pricing depends on how many units are in a package, say multiple booths or bartenders. Extend booking length is great for idle time or setup options. Turning this on
2:28 automatically adds time to the length of the event to block off additional time on your calendar. Require lead time is useful for when you need extra days to prep, like ordering custom props or branded materials. There are also options to require a customer to choose from other extra categories that you've set up. Check out our video on extra categories to learn more. Finally,
2:54 you can choose whether to show this add-on in your add-on gallery widget, which lets clients browse extras right from your website. If you prefer to keep it internal or proposal only, just set it to no. Occasionally, you have packages that should be automatically included when a certain package is selected. For instance, a premium package that automatically includes the premium prints at no
3:19 charge. To automatically include certain add-ons, visit manage packages, click on a package, and go to the advanced tab. Here you can choose which add-ons are available with this package. set whether they're included at no charge and decide if the client can remove them. That way, they're built in. No extra step for your client. Note that this option is not
3:45 required for customers to choose an add-on. Your customers will be able to select from all of the add-ons you have listed under manage add-ons already. This option is just useful if you want to always automatically include a certain add-on with a certain package. When a client books online, they'll see your add-ons displayed neatly under their chosen
4:08 package. They can add or remove extras, see the pricing update in real time, and complete their booking with everything included, all without emailing back and forth. Add-ons also show up inside proposals and can be added by staff manually. So whether you're building a proposal or editing an existing booking, your team can include add-ons with
4:31 just a couple clicks and that's it. Add-ons in Check Cherry are designed to make upselles easy, flexible, and automatic.
