How do I add event types to bookings?

Event types help you categorize bookings by occasion — wedding, corporate event, birthday party, etc. This makes it easier to filter reports and understand your business mix. You can collect event types during online booking or add them to existing bookings manually.

Enable Event Type Collection

ManageBooking EngineExtra Questions
Go to Extra Questions.
Click New Question.
Click Enable on the Event Type question.

Once enabled, clients will select their event type during the online booking process. This question appears automatically with common event types like wedding, corporate, and birthday party.

Create Custom Event Types

You can customize the event type options to match your business. Most photographers add options like "maternity," "senior portraits," or "family session." DJs might include "school dance" or "fundraiser."

ManageBusiness SettingsLeads
Go to Business Settings and click Leads.
In the Event Type box, add your custom options — one per line.
Keep your list focused on the event types you actually book. Too many options can overwhelm clients during checkout.

View Event Type on Bookings

The event type appears on the booking overview page in the Additional Info section.

SalesBookingsSelect a booking
Go to Bookings and select a booking.
Scroll down to the Additional Info section to see the event type.
Click Edit to add or change the event type for existing bookings.
When creating bookings manually, you can't enter the event type during creation — you'll need to add it from the booking overview page after the booking is saved.
