What scheduling formats are available for packages?

Each package has a scheduling format that controls how clients pick a date and time when booking. Choose the format that fits how you deliver the service — hourly sessions need start times, all-day events often don't.

ManagePackages
Click Add a Package or select an existing package to edit.
Go to the Pricing & Scheduling tab.
Select the scheduling format that works best for this service.

Date & Time

Best for hourly packages and services that need a specific start time. The client picks a date and time, and the booking duration comes from your package settings.

You have three options for how time selection works:

  • Minimal: Simple date and time picker — clients choose from any available future date and time
  • Automatic Slots: Check Cherry generates time slots based on your availability and package duration
  • Predefined Slots: You define custom time slots for this package — clients only see your pre-set options

Date Only

Best for packages that take a full day or multiple days, or when the exact timing gets worked out later. Common for weddings, corporate events, and multi-day shoots where you'll coordinate the schedule with the client after booking.

  • Date Only: Clients pick from available dates with no time selection

Sessions (Mini Sessions)

Best for offering multiple short appointments within a single event — like Photos with Santa, mini portrait sessions at a park, or consultation time slots during a bridal show.

To create a Session package, click Create New and select Schedule with Time Slots:

You can use different scheduling formats for different packages. A consultation might use Sessions while your main wedding package uses Date Only. Mix and match based on how each service actually works.
