Why is my email formatting not showing in the Messages tab?

The Messages tab is designed as a quick reference log of all communication, not a full email preview. When you send formatted emails with bold text, images, and colors, the Messages tab strips out the formatting to keep the log clean and scannable. Your clients still receive the fully formatted version.

Why the Messages tab shows plain text

The Messages tab serves as a communication history for you and your team. Showing full HTML formatting would make it cluttered and harder to scan through multiple messages quickly. Think of it like a phone's text message list — you see the content, not the full formatting.

How to see the formatted version

To see exactly what your client received, including all formatting, images, and styling:

SalesReporting
Go to Reports.
Select Message History from the report options.
Run the report to see your formatted email history.

You can also use Email Event History for a more detailed view:

Email Event History shows the full rendered version of every email sent from your account, exactly as your clients saw it.

Use Email Event History to troubleshoot formatting issues or confirm that images and links are displaying correctly for clients.
